Professor Francis S. K. Lau BBS is the founder and Chairman of RHL International (RHL).He was among the first Chinese General Practice Surveyors in Hong Kong,establishing Francis Lau & Co, (Surveyors) Ltd. in 1972 which became Hong Kong’s earliest Chinese-established surveyor firm.

As a pioneer of the surveying industry in the 70s, Professor Lau has contributed significantly to the economic prosperity of Hong Kong. Along the way, he has provided his expertise towards voluntary projects and community services in the economic, social and educational sectors in Hong Kong and mainland China. He has served as the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Hong Kong Real Estate and Construction Association and the Hong Kong Institute of Real Estate Administrators.

Professor Lau has received a number of accolades throughout his career from various local and overseas universities. He was made an Honorary University Fellow and Honorary Professor of the University of Hong Kong and is a patron of the Hong Kong University Foundation. He also served as a visiting professor at the People’s University of Beijing, as an advisory professor of Tong Ji University of Shanghai and an advisor of the China Association of Land Appraisal of the PRC.

In recognition of his contribution to the community, Professor Lau was awarded "The Bronze Bauhinia Star" by the Hong Kong Special Administration Region in 2004.
